1. Work is crazy busy. I love the first hour of the day when it's still kind of quiet. By 9am or so, things just get nuts! Today we have a welcome event for new students (freshman & transfer). Our department has the most of any department - 71 new students, yikes!
2. I think I've mentioned it before, but I love it when tv shows are back in the fall. Every night Jake has to check his notes to see what shows we like are new. He's so darling. ;)
3. Last spring my dad and brother and I went to the Green Festival here in Seattle. I signed up for something called A Fresh Squeeze, Seattle Edition. I love it! It's an awesome resource for reducing your carbon footprint with lots of local ideas. I want this shirt -
You can find one for yourself at Tees For Change.
4. I went to my niece's 11th birthday on Saturday at the Family Fun Center. She's rapidly approaching those teen years, especially in attitude. I adore that girl. I wish I got to spend more time with her.
5. Got a scare about one of my family members today. I'm so thankful all turned out okay.
6. I hate learning new things the hard way. It ticks me off.
7. Classes start tomorrow. Heaven help us all! I met some new freshmen today. They're cute.
8. I missed my 10 year HS reunion this weekend. But I'm kind of happy about it. I look completely different now and it's kind of nice to not be recognized. :P
9. Sometimes I miss the girls in my old job. They understand particular frustrations like no one else.
10. The best thing about the start of fall quarter... Return of the omelet bar!!!!! In the summer our food service cuts WAY back. During the year you can get an omelet with fresh veggies, cheese and lots of different meats for under $4. It's a great deal. I always ask for little to no oil, lots of veggies, no cheese or meat (no I'm not vegan, just watching my calories) and egg whites. I get a huge pile of tasty breakfast for not too many calories and not too many dollars. It rocks.
