Brother has become one of my most treasured words over the past ten years. I'm fortunate to have two wonderful brothers. They would do just about anything for me and they know that it goes both ways! God knew better than to give me a sister growing up. He knew I'd need these brothers. They did an EXCELLENT job preparing me for my three brothers-in-law!

Lucile Street Summer Festival
Again this year my brother hosted a wonderful festival. Lots of good food grilled up by my wonderful husband, games, good people, excellent conversations, the whole nine yards. Oh yeah, and the beer. Adam and his housemate brew their own beer (more about that here) . I wish I'd gotten a picture of the chalk board with the details, but I forgot. SUE ME, I don't drink beer! Here are a few images from the day...
Sans Absol did a set in the evening and were AWESOME!
Also have to give a little shout out... HAPPY 50TH DAD!! Yeah, this picture might have been 20 hours early, but I'm calling it a birthday picture anyway. Love this shot of him with his little sister. :)
LOVE this! The crazy talented Morgan of Nomura Love (who I blogged about here) put together this awesome t-shirt design and silk screen shirts on site! I brought a white T and got the design in the bright green you see here. It ROCKS.
White design looks AWESOME on brown too!
There was lots of rib eating... And paper hat/crown making...
I think that all in all, the festival was immensely enjoyed. Thanks Adam!

ABOUT: Adam
There's so much that could be said about J. Adam. He's Desomniac, he's growing stuff, he rides the bus a lot, he wants people to be inspired and to act, he brews his own beer. And those are just the blogs he writes/contributes to! Adam is wonderful in so, so many ways. He's kind and generous. I could call him ANY TIME, day or night, happy or heartbroken and I know that without a doubt, he'd be there for me. If I wanted to overindulge he'd help me do so safely. ;) I don't, but it's nice to have the option.
I am so blessed to call him my brother. He's smart, interesting, HILAROUS, thoughtful, totally amazing. I don't know that I'd survive our family without him. I also kind of like that in some ways, he still needs a little caretaking. I love being his big sister. On Saturday I encourage everyone to wish him a very happy 27th birthday. Holy crap, we're aging. :D Bro, I love ya. More than I could possilby articulate.
Almost forgot to include a song!! Here it is, Leann Rimes "Family" -
Mamma's crying again here baby's no where to be found
the world has gone taken her away
Daddy went and ran off with some white trash half his age
left me at home to pay for his mistakes
My sister held my hand when that bad boy broke my heart
Ain't no miles ain't no man could ever tear us apart
Here I stand on roots that deep
We laugh we cry we hurt we bleed
We're best of friends and worst enemies
We're all to blame, were all the same, make no apologies
This is my family
Can't forget the night that uncle William passed away
we were forced to recognize his weird disease
I ran away and ran around with a man twice my age
ain't it funny how some things never change
Here I stand on roots that deep
We laugh we cry we hurt we bleed
We're best of friends and worst enemies
We're all to blame, were all the same, make no apologies
This is my family
Don't you try to shame my name
Cause til the death I will defend
Yeah their blood runs through my veins
It's where I start and where I'll end
Here I stand on roots that deep
We laugh we cry we hurt we bleed
We're best of friends and worst enemies
We're all to blame, were all the same, make no apologies
This is my family
Not the best recording, but I don't think she recorded a formal video for this song. Enjoy anyway!

Looking for another blog to check out?
I recommend wandering over to Indoor Sprout. A couple of months ago, my brother decided to start growing all many of food in his dining room. Things have taken off so much that he had to move the table out of the room! We got together on Saturday and I shot a few pictures of what he's got going on, enjoy!
YUM, broccoli's one of my favorite vegetables!
Aloe
Peas! I almost snatched one of those right off the plant!
And a little tobacco...

Busy, busy weekend!
Saturday consisted of running errands, running back to my house so that one of Jake's brilliant friends could look at my computer. He managed to get it running again, YAY! The bad news is that it's running out of life. It could also be that I have asked for more than it's capable of giving. Poor machine!
Anyway, it cooperated enough this weekend to accommodate the first round of images from two more skill building sessions. The first are of my dear brother and the second set are my favorite baby girl Mikayla and her parents. I had a blast hanging out with all of you this weekend!
We were amused by this sign... Tagging the building is a crime, but apparently tagging the sign is just fine. ;)
Aren't they a gorgeous family?? Too bad Miss M was having NONE of the black box pointed directly at her. It's a good thing she's so darling. And I was able to catch a few other smiles. :)
