Went to update something on my blog...

And discovered I haven't blogged since August - how is that possible?!?! Oh yes, I remember now - school started! OH WAIT! I did blog, it just wasn't here. Doh! In August, I went on an INCREDIBLE journey. My dad and I drove from Seattle, WA to Washington DC. I had no idea what I was getting into, but it rocked my socks off. Spring break in Hawaii - round 1!

Jake and I spent 8 GLORIOUS days on the beautiful south shore of Kauai. We had a wonderful time. We stayed in the same condo as we did on our honeymoon at Kuhio Shores. We absolutely love it. :) Over the course of our trip we snorkeled, rode horses, went to a luau and just hung out. It was the best. I'd forgotten how dark the island gets after 7pm. I love island hours. :)

Lincoln City 05.07

Finally - some pictures of people! Jake and I ventured down to Lincoln City again this year, but for a change we took company. Jake's brother and his wife drove down with us for the whole weekend. Then Sunday Jake's cousin and her husband joined us for the last day/night. We had a great time and I LOVED shooting with my dad's Canon 20D in manual mode. So much fun! Here are a few of my favorite shots from the weekend, gotta love Frisbee on the beach!

For Christmas 2005, my in-laws gave Jake and I a night away! We had a blast at the Saratoga Inn on Whidbey Island. It's a charming place to stay. The morning we were there, I went for a walk and took these:

In 2005, Jake's family decided to establish the Annual Fishing Trip. His uncle teaches fly fishing and takes us out on the Rouge River. You can check out his website at Gorman Fly Fishing. He's a terrific guide! My MIL rents a great house for a few days and we all traipse down to hang out on the river and fish for steelhead. :) Here are some pictures of the river and a quick drive up to Crater Lake:

When my husband was growing up, his family had a tradition of spending time on the Oregon Coast ever year. Jake LOVES the ocean, like no one else I know. The first summer we were married, we went down for a long August weekend. Here are a few pictures:

Jacob & I spent a week on the gorgeous island of Kauai for our honeymoon. We had a great time exploring the island, snorkeling, watching the turtles from our lanai... We're going back in March 2008! Here are some of my favorite pictures from our first adventure there:

In June 2004 my wonderful mother-in-law won a radio contest in my name - a trip for 4 to San Diego! We elected to take advantage of this in February 2005 hoping it would be nicer there at the time, than in Seattle. It was cool and rained, but we had a great time anyway! This was the first trip I took with my digital camera. It's a very basic Nikon Coolpix, but it's been getting the job done for this amateur. We spent time a day at Sea World, here are a couple of my favorite shots:
