Last weekend was quite the adventure. A group of us trekked out to Packwood, WA for a night of camping fun at my dad's family reunion, on my dad's birthday! It was pretty good. The trip started with my grandma driving to my aunt's, my aunt Rhonda driving to my dad's, so that Gram & Rhonda could follow Dad to pick up Adam (bro), Joe (Adam's friend) and then get to my house where we loaded Dad, Adam & Joe into my car. While my dad was picking up Joe I learned that my dad's friend and his son were also joining our insane caravan. It was quite the ride.
We left my house and took the almost longest route possible to get to my first (Grandma's 35th) stop of the morning. Jack in the Box. Adam functions much better when he gets some food. Especially if he's hung over. ;) JITB (pronounced jit-buh by me and my bros) got us going. Then, finally, we began the trip out to Mt. Rainier. When we got to the park a couple of hours later, Rhonda got in my car with the guys and we sent my grandma down the road a bit to the family camp compound. The 7 of us then stopped to hike up to Snow Lake. It was pretty much perfect weather and gorgeous scenery!
And this is what he calls "The biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig, fiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig Newton!"I call it the big fig nerd!
A few scenic shots, the first by my dad:
