Last Sunday at church our pastor made a comment that's stuck in my mind. He said (my paraphrase), "We always think the grass is greener on the other side. The grass isn't greener on one side of the fence or the other... The grass is greener WHERE WE WATER IT." I've been thinking about making a couple of big changes in my world. I'm trying to keep this in the front of my mind while making decisions. I think in some areas/situations our water supply dries up. We have to make a very concerted effort to keep it flowing in the areas that are important to us.
Another thing that's been weighing on me recently is something my dad said about motivation. I've been working at a university since July 2004. I've had free tuition since October of that year. Have I bothered to even once take a class? Have made any progress toward my bachelor's degree? Nope, not a bit. Why is this you ask? Because I haven't had a big enough why. I'm hoping I find it soon.
