Welcome to my blog! I started this blog as a place to document my journey as a photographer. It's evolved over the last couple of years to include some random musings and a glimpse of what's going with me. If you have any feedback, comments or thoughts, please leave them! Tuesday Tunes

Last Tuesday after I'd already posted my tune for the day, I read Erin Cobb's blog The Pigbear and knew I *HAD* to share this song with you. I listened to the interview/song and then I looked up the lyrics. It's a song written for the artist mother, but when I heard it I thought of both of my parents. It also made me think about the day that I'll become a parent. I'll always cherish the red threads in my life.

I was only a girl when I went out on my own
You wrapped me up warm and just let me go
Now I live at the far end of this long distance line
And I'm just another one who's gone and left you behind

Wish we could look at your pictures all the places you've been
I don't think you will but you can see them again
'Cause you can see them through me the brown eyes I got from you
Now I wish I could give 'em back to you

This much I can say, this much I can do
When your heart is empty I'll try to fill it for you
'Cause I'm the girl who learned to love from watching you

Wish that I could tell you it'll all be all right
But you never did believe it through the trials of your life
You and I both know it just isn't true
When so much you love has been taken from you

I remember when you told me if we run out of time
How happy you were just to know she'll be mine
When I wrap her up warm you'll be right next to me
'Cause they say that the red thread that ties me to you ies her to me

This much I can say this much I can do
When your heart is empty I'll try to fill it for you
This much I can say this much I can do
When your heart is empty I'll try to fill it for you
'Cause I'm the girl who learned to love
From watching you... watching you... watching you

You can check out the interview/song here. Thank you Erin, for sharing it!

Tuesday Tunes

This weekend while preparing to host Father's Day I heard this song. I just love it. While the exact words, situations described here don't apply to my husband, there are many, many sides to him and I just love them all.

Another Side Of You by Joe Nichols

Well you rolled out of bed and stubbed your toe
And I heard you almost cuss
And I fought back the urge to laugh
Just listen to you fuss
Then you overdid the coffee
Couldn't get your hair just right
When I smiled and said good morning
You looked mad enough to fight

Well that's another side of you
That I'm in a love with too

Yeah that mini van is a far cry
From the sports car in your dreams
And that dead end job
Is pushin back vacation more it seems
You got soccer at 4:30
And ballet class by 5:00
Then I call you talkin' flirty
You ask have I lost my mind

Well that's another side of you
That I'm in love with too
When you lay down in my arms
Let go of all that stress
Whisper honey I love you
With your head on my chest
When the world's strongest woman is my lady
When the day is through
Well that's another side of you
That I'm in love with too

If I had to do the things you do
Well I'd just lose my mind
Somehow you get 'em fed and bathed
And settled down by nine
And I hear you down the hallway
As you're lay 'em down to sleep
And pray the good lord watches over them for you and me

Well that's another side of you
That I'm in love with too
Well that's another side of you
That I'm in love with too

You can check out the video here. His voice is DREAMY. ;)

Tuesday Tunes

I really love this song. I think of all the memories my husband and I have shared together and all of the ones we have to look forward to. :)

Then by Brad Paisley

I remember, trying not to stare the night that I first met you
You had me mesmerized
And three weeks later, in the front porch light
taking forty-five minutes to kiss goodnight
I hadn't told you yet
but I thought I loved you then

Chorus

And now you're my whole life
now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
Like a river meets the sea,
stronger than it's ever been.
We've come so far since that day
And I thought I loved you then

And I remember, taking you back to right where I first met you,
You were so surprised
There were people around, but I didn't care
Got down on one knee right there once again,
I thought I loved you then

Chorus

And now you're my whole life
now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
Like a river meets the sea,
stronger than it's ever been.
We've come so far since that day
And I thought I loved you then

I could just see you, with a baby on the way
And I could just see you, when your hair is turning gray
What I can't see is how I'm ever gonna love you more
But I've said that before

And now you're my whole life
now you're my whole world
I just can't believe the way I feel about you, girl
We'll look back someday, at this moment that we're in
And I'll look at you and say
And I thought I loved you then
And I thought I loved you then

Tuesday Tunes are late again...

But today they come with a picture! This precious little girl is my goddaughter. She's a little monkey, but we love her anyway. Today's song is dedicated to this young lady. MD, you're wonderful, rowdy, little girl. You're going to make a very interesting big sister. Soon we hope!

I Hope You Dance by Lee Ann Womack

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
You get your fill to eat
But always keep that hunger
May you never take one single breath for granted
God forbid love ever leave you empty handed
I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance

I hope you never fear those mountains in the distance
Never settle for the path of least resistance
Living might mean taking chances
But they're worth taking
Lovin' might be a mistake
But it's worth making
Don't let some hell bent heart
Leave you bitter
When you come close to selling out
Reconsider
Give the heavens above
More than just a passing glance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

I hope you still feel small
When you stand by the ocean
Whenever one door closes, I hope one more opens
Promise me you'll give faith a fighting chance

And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance
Dance
I hope you dance
I hope you dance
(Time is a real and constant motion always)
I hope you dance
(Rolling us along)
I hope you dance
(Tell me who)
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
I hope you dance
(Where those years have gone)

(Tell me who)
I hope you dance
(Wants to look back on their youth and wonder)
(Where those years have gone)

Tuesday Tunes

I hooked on the Casting Crowns album The Altar & The Door. So many awesome songs. One of the ones that is really hitting me is this one...

Somewhere in the Middle by Casting Crowns

Somewhere between the hot and the cold
Somewhere between the new and the old
Somewhere between who I am and who I used to be
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me

Somewhere between the wrong and the right
Somewhere between the darkness and the light
Somewhere between who I was and who You're making me
Somewhere in the middle, You'll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Fearless warriors in a picket fence, reckless abandon wrapped in common sense
Deep water faith in the shallow end and we are caught in the middle
With eyes wide open to the differences, the God we want and the God who is
But will we trade our dreams for His or are we caught in the middle
Are we caught in the middle

Somewhere between my heart and my hands
Somewhere between my faith and my plans
Somewhere between the safety of the boat and the crashing waves

Somewhere between a whisper and a roar
Somewhere between the altar and the door
Somewhere between contented peace and always wanting more
Somewhere in the middle You'll find me

Just how close can I get, Lord, to my surrender without losing all control

Lord, I feel You in this place and I know You're by my side
Loving me even on these nights when I'm caught in the middle
